Abstract. The articles discusses ideas and themes connected with solving problems of “an ordinary and non ordinary rural school”. The themes include: “reality that teaches”, the second edition of “unpromising village”, the Internet/boarding school, teaching outside class-and-lesson system, culture centers in rural areas, rural schools models, travelling and non travelling schools, part-time schools and centers for students from rural areas, useful methods – survival tools, enriching factors, archives, agrarian education, global rural school, urban and rural schools cooperation, village success scenario and etc. It is demonstrated that a rural school becomes successful if it stops copying an urban school.
