Changing face of the Russian teachers (following the findings of a sociological research on Internet education effectiveness)

Some findings from a comparative sociological research conducted by NGO “Federation of Internet Education” in May-June 2004 are presented in the article. The research was aimed at identifying changes in socio-cultural, pedagogical and behavioral portraits of school teachers who participated and who did not participate in trainings carried out by regional centres of “Federation of Internet Education”. The survey was conducted in Birobidzhan, Irkutsk, Petrozavodsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Orel, Samara, Saint Petersburgh, Tomsk, Tumen, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don and Moscow. 1600 Russian teachers (750 persons who did not participate in trainings and 850 who participated in trainings) were surveyed.
